Loonie4scrapbooking will be holding an introduction to scrapbooking and techniques class in Kemptville, Ontario on Sunday, February 27, 2011. Kemptville is appoximately 30 minutes south of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada just off Highway 416. This will be a great way for beginners to learn some of the FUN-damentals of scrapbooking. The class will be held in the hall above the Independant Grocery Store in the Kemptville Mall on Highway 43 in Kemptville. The class will run from 10am until 2pm.
The first hour will be a basic intro including photo mounting, color coordinating, use of adhesives and tools etc. The next 2 hours we will learn about techniques such as flower making, distressing, glimmer misting, stamping/inking, sanding and heat embossing.
The final hour will be open for people to chat, try out a Cricut and Cuttlebug (that will be on site) or ask questions. It promises to be a fun four hours. Snacks and drinks will be provided as well there will be door prizes.

Scrapfest is coming!
Hello there fellow scrappers,
I thought I should bring it to your attention that Scrapfest 2011 is just around the corner...ok well, the ticket sales to it are. Scrapfest is an annual event that takes place in Ontario, Canada, each year, and this years venue is Kitchener, Ontario. You may remember me talking about Scrapfest last year in Oshawa, well the 2011 edition is happening on the week-end of April 8-9 and the tickets are available online starting February 2nd at 8pm.
Last year was my first year to attend and I had a blast! I learned so many new things, met like-minded scrapping enthusiasts, and shopped until the marketplace closed (both days). You could spend half a day just doing make and takes...which is both fun and interesting. I took 2 classes with Vicki Boutin who is a really personable and passionate teacher, and learned a few new techniques from her classes. It was an amazing experience and did I mention that there were incredible deals in the marketplace!!! Who doesn't love to save $$$!
So whether you are interested in taking some classes to learn some new techniques, want to shop till you drop and take home as many freebies as possible, or just want to spend a day at the crop with other papercrafting enthusiasts, Scrapfest has something for every scrapper out there! And hey, its a week-end away with the girls, no kids, and (typically) no men:)

I have placed yet another order for Sew Easy piercer's and attachments...lets hope they still have some in stock. My 2 previous orders sold out quickly with the exception of one hem attachment I still have in stock. I am hopeful that I will get a the stitch piercer and some attachments this time:)
Today is the day that I am finally going to work on my scrapbook, its been awhile but today I went out printed some pictures and am getting ready for some me time to do some scrapping tonight. I will let you know how and if it works out.
I also want to post it in as many places as possible, Loonie4scrapbooking is planning an Introduction to scrapbooking class!

Welcome to the New Year!
I had a wonderful holiday with my family and friends and hope everyone else had a safe and happy holiday also. Now that the holidays are over its back to reality. We at Loonie4scrapbooking are very excited for the challenges that are sure to come this year.

Life Update from Loonscrapper
Wow, life has been pretty hectic lately. I recently sold my home and the closing date was less than 30 days from the date of purchase. We have another home that we are moving into but it is being completely renovated and needs a kitchen and bathroom (at the very least) to be inhabitable. So, between renovating one house and packing another I am barely finding time to shower and sleep :) I am providing this update to help people understand why the blogs are not a daily occurrence. I find it ironic that someone (me) who can usually talk anyone's ear off on any given day has difficulty finding something to write about in their blog.
By the way the Sew Easy products I just blogged about a couple of days ago has arrived at my supplier and will be shipped by early next week. I am going to have to make some time to try it out when it comes in.

Our new site!
Has everyone seen the new Loonie4scrapbooking website yet? We haven't had a lot of feedback but what we have had has been very positive. We would love to know what you think, any changes you would like to see, things you like, etc. We are very pleased with the outcome of the site. We hope you agree that the site is easier to navigate, and much more aesthetically pleasing.
Some of the added features this site provides is the opportunity to shop by manufacturer, to email a friend (by product) to shop using either the Canadian or US currency. On the home page there is a section for featured products and one thing I personally appreciate is the ability to view the page in a number of different ways while viewing the catalog. If you click on the View As: button while looking at a page of product you will have the option to view the page as a list, list without options, grid, or compact list. Take a look and decide which format you prefer. This is especially helpful for people with slower browsing speeds as you can choose to not view all the pictures.
The reason we changed websites is simple, we wanted to be a Canadian site that could accept Canadian dollars, and the other site was US based which lead to many complications accepting Canadian money. So now we are completely Canadian but US user friendly also. Whatever currency you place your order in is the currency you are charged upon checking out.
We owe a big thank you to Delta Decisions for designing the site, and would recommend them to anyone in need of website management. http://www.deltadecisions.com/ We also thank Rosa Yorke for referring the company to us, we are very excited for the unveiling of your new site that is coming soon.
